Just a note - if this rifle is in the UK - then I assume it is properly licensed/documented (which would I assume record calibre?) if it is not then I would be concerned regarding the legal status of the weapon unless it has been deactivated and even there it appears there are concerns regarding the standard to which this has been done. Unmodified complete 7.65mm Turkish Mausers are quite scarce and fairly sought after. In response to your question about the quality of the Turkish Mausers: its very difficult to say anything about this.

The survey is necessarily focused on reworked models that have years and serial numbers in modern script. It appears that the rifle has been reblued, and there is a bit of, I think, cosmoline in the inside of the barrel and action. The survey form is available to input your serial numbers. The bolt, receiver, and rear sight have matching serial numbers, 1102, and the year stamped on the receiver is 1938. I will be back with all my references and my example (unfortunately NOT in original calibre/format) in a couple of hours and can offer more then. Anyway, as a graduation present to myself, I bought a Turkish Mauser yesterday for 129.95. When you say "bolt won't go home when internal mag empty" do you mean the sprung follower plate obstructs the bolt and needs to be depressed to allow the bolt to slide home? if so that is normal.

An overall view of the rifle would be very helpful.įrom what you have shown it does indeed look to be in original format and thus we might ASSUME original calibre but I certainly would not guarantee that and would be leery of anyone doing so based on pictures.
